I'm a sucker for anything Limited Edition--I've said that before. If I know a product isn't going to be made forever or only in a finite quantity--it definitely piques my interest. So, take that fact and make it a Tom Ford product--and I don't need to know anything else. It's mine. Regret is the worst. Trust me--I've been there. Even if I might have had doubt--fear and wunderlust won out. In The Pink had to be mine.

For Fall 2013, Tom Ford released two new trio eyeshadow palettes in monochromatic shades. The packaging is the same as other Tom Ford Cosmetics, with this new trio palette being roughly a little more than half the size of the quad palettes and almost the same width. The compact is just a touch smaller than the size of the blushes. The main difference between the trios and the quads, is that the shadows are rectangular and are laid out across the palette, instead of squares, laid out in a square shape.

Tom Ford Ombre Eye Color In The Pink ($60 for .16oz/4.5g) is comprised of a "Ballet Slipper Pink, Pink Champagne and Pink Rose." Instead of being girly pink shades, the colors of In The Pink are rather, reminiscent of his cream eyeshadow Pink Haze, from this past summer.

In The Pink--and She Wolf--is a play on tints, tones and finishes.

Shade #1 is a light, milky matte seashell pink. In some lighting it appears to be warm toned and at other times, more neutral. This shade is pure heaven. I have never before in my life felt an eyeshadow this silky, this velvety, this luxurious. Ever.

Shade #2 is a shimmery, peachy beige, with the slightest hint of pink. In some light, it looks almost coppery. It's not as smooth or buttery as Shade #1, but it's still good. Really, really good. The color payoff is opaque in one pass, with no fallout.

Shade #3 is almost a lighter, transparent version of Shade #2 with glitter. It is a semi-to-mostly-transparent peachy beige with a hint of pink, with gold, silver and pink glitter. The surface texture reminds me of a boucle sweater--do you remember those? Though, as you use it, it is worn down into a relatively flat and even surface. It isn't really all that gritty like you might expect--given that it's a glitter shade.  And there is virtually no fallout or mess made.

When swatched, it becomes apparent, just how not pink, In The Pink really is. Shade #1, blends into my skin, becoming almost invisible. While Shade #2 takes on almost a coppery salmon hue. And Shade #3 looks like a sheer peach tinted beige with sparkle.

Am I glad I picked up In The Pink? Yes and no. Yes, because it's Limited Edition. I would have hated to skip it and have it sell out and then change my mind. No, because I don't know how much use I will get out of it--mostly because of that glittery shade. Yes, because the quality is phenomenal. No, because the shades are very light in color--even for me. Mostly just yes. However, like others have said, I probably won't wear In The Pink as intended very often. And the glitter shade--hardly ever.
